Btec National Diploma Sport (Performance And Excellence) (Sports Devlopment, Coaching And Fitness)
As part of the curriculum for the BTEC National Diploma Sport (Performance and Excellence) (Sports Devlopment, Coaching and Fitness) Team Spirit Cycling Camps Limited now provide the following to encourage and develop students.
Team Spirit will also provide not only the unique and memorable experience of cycling on the UK’s Olympic standard velodromes but also the chance to interview an elite cyclist. Students will discover what the everyday life of a World class athlete is like.
To be given the chance of being coached by the one of Europe’s top cycling coaches Steve Bonnici. Steve has ridden with and coached many professional and elite cyclists. With a qualification of British Cycling Coaching Award Steve has also many years of experience as not only a track cycling competitor but also as team coach for the Swedish National Track Squad and our very own home grown elite team of cyclists here in the UK.
As well as attending the velodrome for a track session your students will take part in simulated races with certificates and a trophy as rewards.
Refreshments can be provided at extra cost.
Outline of what we can provide:
• Velodrome hire for 2hrs
• Hire of track bikes
• Hire of helmets
• Hire of track gloves
• Qualified professional track cycling coach
• Experienced track cyclist to demonstrate sessions
• Interview with an elite cyclist
• Interview with an Olympic hopeful
• Simulated track racing events
• Certificates awarded
• Trophy for race winners
• Refreshments can be provided
• The opportunity to ride the track on a tandem
We also encourage and can actively advise on the further development of cycling as a sport or as part of a general fitness regime.
Mark Taylor is a qualified National Standard Cycle Training Instructor. Team Spirit Cycling Camps can also provide an additional programme that will improve any road cyclist or commuter skills and awareness of positioning themselves safely in a simulated road situation. We use the outdoor track at Cardiff where the centre of the track has been redesigned and developed to encourage the education of all children and adults in riding on the road.
Individual students who have not experienced cycling at all can still be included. Team Spirit Cycling Camps Limited will provide a tandem for both students and teachers to experience.
Team Spirit Cycling Camps have proven that skills gained at our sessions can improve team participation and develop individual achievements.
