Halloween Party for 8 year olds?
Shall i have it on Friday the 31st (Halloween)
Or Saturday 1st?
I was thinking most kids will want to trick or treat, and parents might be working? but they still could if we had the party in the evening, but the kids are only 8 so what time should I have it? The kids will be on half term then.
What games could we play/activities for 8 year olds?
Any good ideas guys?????
Thanks
The first may be better because some kids may want to go trick or treating in their own neighbourhood. Although if they are off school that day ( is half term a break?) Then there is no reason not to have it during the afternoon
Do a mad science lab. Look up online for some easy cool science experiments you can do with the kids. Baking soda and vinegar with some food colouring should keep them occupied for a little while. But this does involve a mess that needs to be cleaned up.
You could do a mummy relay race. divide the kids in to teams one kid is the mummy and the others need to wrap him or her up. Get some cheap rolls of toilet paper and each child only gets two wraps in before they need to hand the roll over to their next team member. the first team to have their mummy covered the most wins.
Scavanger hunts are always fun. Hide clues around the house for a “treasure” Maybe the treasure at the end could be a halloween movie and treats to go with it. Or just dollar store goodies and candies.
bobbing for apples never gets old
You could with adult assistance have them carve pumpkins. Or give them art supplies and let them decorate small pumpkins or squash. Some dollar stores even sell stickers or decorations you can put on a pumpkin with out carving it.
You could make up a scary haunted house for the kids to go though. In the haunted house you could make up bowls of jello or pasta and tell the kids it’s brains or something equally scary.
Get some surgical and fill them up with ice or jello then the kids have a cool treat or a cool ice cube for the punch bowl.
