What Do You Do All Day?
Why when I tell other people that I am a SAHM, they often ask “What do you do all day?” like SAHM’s do not do anything, just stay at home and eat bon bons all day? Sometimes I can not help being offended. How do I answer these people’s questions without being offended? I cook 3 meals a day plus snacks, do laundry, wash dishes, clean bedrooms, kitchen, living room, home office; dust, drive my kid to the park and storytime and crafts, go grocery shopping, read to my kid, teach him stuff, give my kid a bath, keep an eye on my kid, type long emails, organize, volunteer, spoil my spouse so he can relax after work, etc..
When someone tells me that they’re a stay at home mom, I always say, “Wow. that must be hard work!” and if they want to talk about what they do all day, they are free to. I do not say “Oh really? What do you do all day?”
Even women who have stayed home before and went back to work, have the audacity to ask this kind of question to me?

hhmm well most of the time i sleep in till around 11, while my kids run free and destroys the house. Then I order in while my house just gets more dirty.
uh i am a day care, houseclean, provider and more all in one. And I work 24-7.

I say I am not going to have some one raise my child, and feed my child, who know where they been what they have done and how clean they are. I will raise my child, cook for my family, and clean. on top of that many other things. We have home cooked meals no frozen or order outs. Were a anti fast food family. My house is clean and we have lots of family time.

I don’t think a mom who works out of the house does the same thing as a sahm. Not at all! There is so much more sahm moms do then working moms. were raising our kids not that working moms wont have good kids but someone else is doing the job. I have given up a lot to stay home but its worth it.
and i hate when working mom say i do the same you do plus i work…so i do more…oh no you dont! try raising your child 27-7

i think people who ask are jealous or mad they dont have that blessing.
